Egyptian National Railways

Challenge
Built in 1833, the Egyptian National Railways has span its operating territory throughout the years. In 2005 it operated 5,063 kilometres (3,146 mi) of standard gauge 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) track. Most of the rail system is focused on the Nile delta with lines essentially fanning out from Cairo. ENR is the backbone of passenger transportation in Egypt, with 800 million passenger miles annually.

With heavy operations such as these, it became necessary for the ENR to consider securing the premises and operations of 58 automated signaling towers all over Egypt.

Solution

Video Surveillance

The span of video surveillance services has recently widened to comprise both remote and urban operations where safety is directly tied to cost efficiency. Alkan CIT believes in the importance of deploying surveillance solutions both for operational security where monitoring remote facilities and sometimes day to day activities is critical to the business as well as for perimeter security which involves securing the physical ground of the premise whether it is remote or urban.
